About Us

Improving the lives of children through meaningful health services research

At Dr. Evans’ Lab, our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children and youth

We believe research should do more than produce papers; it should lead to change. That’s why our work is grounded in evidence and compassion. We collaborate closely with children, families, First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Black communities, policymakers, and academic partners across Canada and beyond.

Our projects focus on health equity and improving systems of care—especially for children who are often overlooked or underserved. We are proud to work with researchers and communities to ensure our approach reflects First Nations, Métis, and Inuit, and Black, principles, priorities, and protocols.

Whether we’re building innovative data platforms like CanFos, engaging with youth through storytelling and art, or advising on policy, everything we do is rooted in respect, transparency, and care.

We walk alongside those we serve, listening, learning, and building research that reflects every voice at the table.
